Iranian, Turkish Provinces Discuss Expansion of Ties
TEHRAN (FNA)- Senior provincial officials of Iran’s Southern province of Hormozgan and Turkish province of Mersin explored avenues for the further expansion and development of the bilateral ties.

In a meeting with Governor-General of Mersin Basri Guzeloglu on Saturday, Governor-General of Hormozgan province Ebrahim Azizi proposed establishment of joint assembly of chambers of commerce between the two provinces. He expressed the hope that the joint assembly would promote bilateral economic ties. Azizi added that the two provinces have many similarities and can play an effective role in promoting trade exchange level to 30 billion dollars. Azizi also said that holding cultural week will help people of both provinces to get more acquainted with each other. Iran and Turkey have in recent years increased their cooperation in all the various fields of economy, security, trade, education, energy and culture. The two sides have exchanged several politico-economic delegations during the last few months.
